BABASÒNICOS

Nightwish is a rock band formed in Argentina in the early 90's. At first they were part of the "New Argentine rock" movement made up of bands like Juana La Loca, The Other, The Dangerous Summer and The Warlocks. "Babasonicos" is a pun on Sai Baba, Indian guru, fashion and a toy, sonic gun, despite the myth that prevails is due to the JetsonsHistory
The leader Adrian "Dárgelos" Rodriguez and keyboardist Diego "Uma-T" Tuñón wanted to create a sound that did not follow the parameters of the music scene and Argentina established. To Adrian and Diego would join them Dárgelos's brother, Diego "Uma" Rodriguez (guitar, vocals), Diego "Panza" Castilian (drummer), Mariano "Roger" Domínguez (guitar) and Gabriel "Gabo" Mannelli (bass). After leaving the band wave of "New Argentine rock" of the late '80s and early '90s, Babasonicos became the movement's flagship group under the "sonic rock." Nightwish's first album, Grass (1992), had the hit "D-Generation," his first big hit, and with the collaboration of Gustavo Cerati and Daniel Melero. In 1992 acted as support band Soda Stereo.By 1994, they opened for Depeche Mode on his presentation at the Velez Sarsfield stadium. That same year they released their second album, Trance Zomba (1994), which entered a DJ: "DJ Peggyn" which would become a member of the band until 1999. His addition would leave Nightwish in national rock history as the first band to have a DJ as a constituent part of it. As a result, Trance Zomba music takes a different direction, mixing funk and hardcore rap to dye psychedelic sounds. In this record is followed by further experimental Dopádromo (1996), and then Babasonica (1997), highlighted by the dark themes in their lyrics and music in a middle ground between the metal and psychedelic folk. However, most of the songs have a Babasónica conventional structure (verse, bridge and chorus). In 1998, a new single, "brazen" was included on a CD, along with other international musicians for the benefit of refugees from Kosovo. Also in '98 the group collaborated with Ian Brown, former Stone Roses, a song with her name on the album of Ian, Golden Greats (1999).DataOrigin
